HEAL Foundation (Healing Every Autistic Life) Sponsors Hollywood Director Joey Travolta's Filmmaking Camp for Kids
Jacksonville, Florida...This summer, Hollywood film director Joey Travolta
will conduct a two-week filmmaking camp for children on the autism
spectrum, sponsored by the HEAL Foundation in conjunction with the
University of North Florida.
Located on campus at the University Center, June 16-27th, up to 50
young people, ages 10 through 17 years old, (30 of whom are on the
autism spectrum and 20 who are not) will participate in hands-on
activities like acting, writing, producing, and directing to result in a 20-minute short film, made by the young filmmakers.
Travolta's successful film camp format, being produced for the first time
in Florida through ArtLife Productions, is set to document the kids' dayto-day experiences and includes the making of a public service
announcement entitled, "Free To Be Me".
Campers are being nominated by teachers and therapists in Duval and St.John's counties, for more information, go to the HEAL Foundation web
site www.HealAutismNow.org or contact ArtLife producer, Karen Sadler.
